Everywhere I go: across the puget sound

A ferry ride and a long drive brought me to the retreat site yesterday, where I had the privilege of curating conversations sitting by the fire and walking by a creek down to the Straits of Juan de Fuca, digging into perspectives and opportunities, exploring what it is to be truly human at work.

When Cathy, an assistant attorney general from one of the state’s regional offices, asked if I’d be willing to “come to the ends of the earth” to be with her team of attorneys and staff to start the year, I said, “Absolutely.”

It was a gift to make the journey and to be with them.

My work sometimes takes me around the world and other times it takes me right across the Puget Sound. Everywhere I go, I find people who are doing difficult work thoughtfully, brilliantly, kindly, taking care of each other too, in simple yet meaningful ways.

I call that love, everywhere I go.
